Design
The 2017 Continental Convertible doesn’t sacrifice a thing for the added benefit of its retractable roof. Like its hard-topped relative, the GT V8 S combines performance, agility, practicality and luxury all in one state-of-the-art design. At the touch of a button, the four-layered roof—complete with the latest in insulate technology—retracts to expose both the driver and passengers to the sun and outdoor elements. If you decide far from your driveway that you’d like to go top-down, never fear. The top can still be folded at speeds of up to 20 mph.
The Continental convertible offers a wide variety of interior options including hide colors and splits, a knurled sports gear lever and piano black veneer, standard. Optional features include 21” alloy wheels, and full hardware packages tailored to different driving conditions, such as sports or all-season.
The Continental also features a full-suite infotainment system with 8” touch screen located directly in the center console. This infotainment system offers a Wi-Fi option and 30 GB of hard drive space that has an ability to pull navigation and store live-and-estimated traffic data for quick access even without a signal. The 2017 Continental also offers pairing via Bluetooth with most smartphones, tablets, or media players and quick connectability to the in-vehicle audio system.
Engine specifications
The 2017 Bentley Continental convertible is a powerhouse for pleasure-cruising. The V8S comes stacked with an all-powerful 4-liter twin turbo engine that manages to squeeze an incredible 520 bhp at 6000 rpm. The Bentley can do zero-to-sixty in 4.5 seconds and hit a maximum speed of 191 mph—a speed at which we can’t recommend you drive with the top down. And with all this power, the Bentley Continental still manages to achieve an EPA-estimated 24 mpg highway, an incredible feat for a luxury sports model such as this.
Additionally, the completely redesigned Continental chassis and suspension come together to provide a far more responsive drive. Air springs with continuous damping control are included, as well as a sports suspension set-up with electronic height adjustment facility to help make your ride smooth over a variety of driving conditions. Custom sports exhaust systems are also available, which offer a revised pipe architecture, redesigned silencers and re-tuned mountings to deliver a satisfying roar from the V8 haus hidden beneath your hood.
